The DCP manufacturers Warranty.
All DCP products carry a 12 month warranty from date of purchase unless
stated otherwise.†
The DCP warranty offer is ‘return to base’, which means that the owner returns
the product to DCP at their cost and DCP return the product to the owner at our cost.
This applies to the† purchased product only and does not include batteries, consumables,
accessories, sensors or software.
The main repair condition is ‘Fair Use’ in that the product must have been used as
instructed for the use intended and must not have got wet, been dropped or suffered
shock, electrical, fluid, battery, corrosion or physical damage through any misuse.
We want every customer to feel happy with the quality, design and durability of our
products and we would like to think that we have a ‘common sense’ and human attitude
towards service. So if you do have a DCP product purchased from new and which fails
shortly after the official warranty period or you think has an original manufacturing
fault please contact DCP with details and we will look on it sympathetically taking
all of the facts, usage and the cause of the problem into account.
Our products are supplied to customers worldwide with direct or via distributors -
if you purchased your product from outside the UK it may be more convenient and
efficient to deal with warranty problems via your distributor. Our warranty offer
does not affect a customers legal statutory rights.
Service for products or problems within warranty period.
If you receive a new DCP product which you believe is defective or incomplete you
should immediately contact DCP within 7 days of receipt, reporting the nature of
the fault or shortage.
If the problem is validated the product will normally be exchanged directly or
a missing item sent - DCP will advise. If a problem occurs after 7 days please
contact DCP to validate the fault and then download the Service Repair Form and
send the product to the address shown along with copy of proof of purchase -
all of this information is on the form.
Please REMOVE BATTERIES and DO NOT send sensors or accessories like carry case
or cables unless specifically requested to do so and always pack products well
and send by secure means - DCP cannot take any responsibility for getting your
product safely to us.

Please follow this procedure as it is surprising how many products are returned to us with no fault found and the cause has later been found to be a problem with a computer or other accessory, so unless you are in absolutely no doubt contact us first or we may have to charge to return products which have not been validated with DCP and no fault is found.
Repair and service for products outside of warranty cover or period.
We are pleased to offer a fixed price repair and service scheme for many of our products which enables DCP to repair items more cheaply and efficiently and the customer to know the cost of a repair before returning them. Please download the Fixed price repair scheme price list by clicking here.
Compatibility.
There are so many makes, models and variations of computer hardware and operating system software that it is impossible to test LogIT system compatibility with every one of them. Consequently our description of computer compatibility is offered as general advice and neither DCP or its resellers can guarantee full compatibility with every computer and so cannot be held responsible for the specific purchase of computers or other equipment for use with LogIT.
Extended warranty offers.
Certain DCP products may be offered with an extended warranty offer from some
resellers. This must be registered online at DCP within 30 days of purchase and
full information along with the terms of the warranty are explained on the offer
leaflet supplied with a product and the extension does not normally apply to
sensors/accessories and is not retrospective.
(At the time of writing March 1st 2007 the offer is a 10 year warranty which
applies to selected LogIT Explorer packs from some retailers and the new Black Box
data logger sets).
