:: Explorer Sensors

New Window

Explorer Sensors are robustly made with one pin push connection especially for smaller less patient hands. Explorer automatically recognises all the sensors, which may be plugged into any of Explorers three sockets.

Voltage Leads

Electricity from fruit?

Testing for voltage. The voltage lead is supplied with crocodile clip leads and can measure DC voltages in the range of 0 to 10 Volts.

Controller

Using Explorer's built-in temperature sensor & Explorer Controller to control a cooling fan. An easy to use accessory to experiment with basic hands on monitoring and control with 'real world' safe low voltage motors, lamps etc.

pH Sensor

Teeth under attack?
Testing the acidity of fizzy drinks with the explorer pH probe. Measures from pH 1-14 and is supplied with a pH adapter and a replaceable pH electrode.

Temperature Probe

How warm is that coat?
Comparing insulation materials using 2 temperature probes. Measures -10 to + 110°C.

Motion/Distance Sensor

How fast?
Displaying a motion graph using the motion sensor connected to LogIt Lab. The Motion sensor measures the time sound waves take to bounce off objects to calculate the object's distance. Position can be plotted against time to show movement, speed etc.

Heart Rate Sensor

How fit are you?
Compare pulse rate before & after exercise. Includes a clip that fits on a finger or ear lobe allowing pulse rate to be displayed and recorded

Heat Detective
Help Agent Flask discover the mystery of invisible heat energy. Mix FUN with science through investigation such as "Hot Hats", "Search & Rescue" and "Find the Genie"
